Implant Specialist in Fresno
Dental implants are often the number one treatment option for replacing missing teeth. Rather than sitting on the gum line like dentures, or using adjacent teeth as anchors like bridgework, dental implants are permanent replacements that are surgically placed in the jawbone by an implant specialist like Dr. Mehdi Jafarinejad.
Many of our patients who have opted for dental implants often report the following benefits:
- Improved quality of life, comfort, and security compared to other treatments
- Satisfactory results that help to eliminate the day-to-day frustrations, discomfort, and embarrassment associated with ill-fitting dentures
- Allow you to enjoy a healthy and varied diet without the restrictions many denture wearers face
- Provide a sense of renewed self-confidence that allows many people rediscover the excitement of an active lifestyle shared with family and friends and the chance to speak clearly and comfortably with co-workers
For all these reasons, patients who receive dental implants often claim that they look better, feel better, and live better.
On your first visit to Lemoore Dentistry, Dr. Mehdi Jafarinejad will examine the health of your soft and hard tissues where there are missing teeth to determine whether you’re a good candidate for dental implants.
The treatment involves a minor surgical procedure, during which the titanium implant will be placed in the jaw. Since it is a biocompatible material, it will integrate with your jawbone and become part of your hard tissue, functioning as the new tooth root for your replacement tooth or teeth. You may require one or several implants, like 5 or 6, to support a row of 10 to 12 replacement teeth. Once the implant has healed, after a few months, an abutment is attached, connecting the crown (finished tooth replacement) to the implant.
